Update from 11/30/10-- It's a BOY!

I am a bit behind in my postings...

So on 11/30/10 Daddy and I went in for your anatomy scan. We were in a tiny room with an ultrasound technician. There wasn't really any room for Daddy... he had to sit on a side table and be careful not to knock over the lamp. He was watching on the big screen that the tech was using and I was able to watch on the little screen that was in front of me. The tech asked us before we started if we wanted to know if you were a boy or girl. "Yes!" we both said together!

So she explained that we were going to first be looking at Mommy's parts before we focused on you. She told me that I have an anterior placenta (which just means its in front and it will take a bit more time for me to feel you kicking me regularly). Then she started to look at you. You had a beautiful heart beat of 168 (we will come back to the Old Wives Tale later). She showed us your brain and your head. She couldn't get a good picture of your face... you kept putting your hands over it (you must take after your Mommy). Then we saw your legs and your leg bones, your arms and arm bones, your spine, your belly... and finally a quick peek at your face. Then it came time for us to see if you are a boy or girl. I was really hoping you would open your legs for us... and you did! She paused the ultrasound and let me and Daddy guess. It was obvious to me what you were... but Daddy had a confused look on his face (I don't think he knew what to look for). So I said, "It's a boy! You were wrong (to Daddy)!!". He thought you were a girl this whole time! She also told us that you weigh 8oz right now! You are so tiny!

We are so excited to meet you, little man! I have started looking through name books so that you aren't named "boy" when you come out. But... your name will remain a secret from the world until then... so I won't post any ideas here!

Here are two pictures that we got from the ultrasound:

 This is your profile!

This is your foot! So cute!
